Programme structure and logic

C4E Forum will offer an engaging blend of practical parallel sessions, informal sessions, high-level plenaries, a project lab and lot of social and networking opportunities around it.

Parallel sessions

On Thursday and Friday morning there will be two consecutive sets of 4 parallel practical sessions in which participants themselves will have an opportunity to present and discuss issues with other participants. Each 90min panel will be moderated by an experienced expert in the area and will start with 2-3 presentations of 15 minutes leaving about half of the slot to discussion. This is where you can meet your peers who are dealing with similar problems as you and get some inspiration.

Plenary sessions

The opening high-level plenary on Wednesday for all participants will focus on the broader policy picture: Why is energy efficiency important, how it fits into current broader energy situation, what EU wants to do with Energy Union and how the principle of Energy Efficiency First can be implemented in reality.

The second plenary on Thursday will be about solutions, looking at how cities, regions, private investors and others have already understood the logic of energy efficiency and are implementing it in reality, but also what barriers and problems they are facing in the process.

Informal sessions

Afternoon slots are dedicated for interactive sessions organized by participants and our sponsors. Any group of participants will have an opportunity to set up an informal session on the spot. This is a great way to react on the hottest topics that the participants will feel most passionate about.

Project lab

At the project lab, after having spent two full days together, this is where collaboration will be put to practice. First you will get an overview of the current call for proposals on energy efficiency under Horizon2020, as well as insights on what constitutes a good proposal. Teams of participants will then have an opportunity to develop and flesh out project ideas and pitch these to our experts experienced in fundraising and receive feedback and advice on how to go about fleshing out a full project proposal. We are hopeful that this will be a start to many new regional partnerships and international projects that will continue even after C4E Forum 2016 ends.
