Plenary sessions

13 June: Opening high-level plenary
“Why should national governments care about energy efficiency?”

This plenary will focus on energy efficiency as an integral part of the general energy policy:

  • What role energy efficiency plays in broader energy policy discussion?
  • What sets of measures do individual countries take to improve energy efficiency?
  • What is the role of energy efficient building renovation in the energy policy?
  • How do we expect that the newly adopted Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and Energy Efficiency Directive will affect countries’ approaches

14 June: Second plenary session
“How to finance energy efficiency in the CEE region?”

This plenary will be dedicated to financing the energy transition, and more specifically to investing in energy efficiency.

  • We know that energy efficiency investmens are cost-effective, however, large up-front investments are needed. How can the next EU budget (multi-annual financial framework) support this?
  • Which role do we see for emission trading revenues in financing the energy transition?
  • What are effective innovative financial instruments that can leverage public funds with private investment?
  • How can we monetize the social and economic benefits of energy efficiency investments?
